Immortal Stories - Wisdom to Nourish Your Mind and Soul

I picked up this book at Crossword stores, Pune. I was looking for a collection of short stories based on Hindu mythology but was unable to find something that I was interested in. This book didn't fit the category I had in mind but after reading the back cover I decided to buy it.
The book is a collection of short stories from all around the World - parables from Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Islam, Christianity, Jainism, Taoism, Zorastrianism and others. Each story has the power to uplift your mind in times of stress or just bring a smile when you want to read something light. However, each story also provides deep insight to age-old questions. The stories are around three to four pages long so you finish stories pretty quickly. Since the stories can be read so fast, you'll have quite a few good stories for your child to tell before he/she goes to bed.
I was specially moved by the story of Guru Tej Bahadur. I found a lot of history I never knew of about of my own country and what glorious stories they are!
The book is authored by J. P. Vaswani. I had not known about him before reading this book, he is a spiritual leader born in Hyderabad on August 2, 1918. The last five stories are about him and they are very dear as all the others.
I would definitely recommend this book to people who like spiritual stories, real-life stories dealing with truth, courage and compassion.
